White Sox Minor Keys: Sept. 21, 2022
Jonathan Stiever (Laura Wolff / Charlotte Knights)
Thanks to the extended Triple-A schedule, Jonathan Stiever can say he didn’t miss all of 2022.
Stiever made his first appearances since Aug. 12, 2021, on Wednesday, starting with a scoreless inning in Jacksonville. He was initially expected to participate in spring training after undergoing lat surgery last year, but instead his season debut took place on the last day of summer.
Stiever recorded two outs on three pitches, then had to work around a Yolbert Sánchez error before Sánchez redeemed himself on a Willians Astudillo chopper. No radar gun readings were available on the broadcast.
