Foulkelore

108.8 mph off the bat for Moncada. That’s a good sign.

Foulkelore

And his second hit was 106.5 mph.

As Cirensica

And another reason not to play Leury

charlie

And a critical lackadaisical error.

dwjm3

Cueto is such a joy

As Cirensica

Eloy might have noodle legs but he has a beautiful swing

Foulkelore

Road Gavin just isn’t very good, for whatever reason.

Foulkelore

2022 Splits for Gavin:
Home: .282/.356/.583 – amazing 163 wRC+!
Road: .224/.260/.272 – horrific 51 wRC+!

Career Splits for Gavin:
Home: .296/.360/.630 – amazing 172 wRC+!
Road: .210/.270/.288 – horrific 58 wRC+!

Foulkelore

Can you quad-platoon a player (only starts home games vs. RHP)?

Denman

Wow, I got that Sheets hit better at G-rate than on the road, but I didn’t realize the splits were so drastic. It’s hard to figure what could account for such a huge difference. G-Rate is a hitter friendly park (especially for lefty pull hitters) but it’s not Coors.

As Cirensica

Man on 3rd fewest than 2 outs….White Sox hitters worst nightmare

As Cirensica

Robert is out of the game. He should have been on the IL 2 weeks ago. White Sox young players seems to need a month or more to heal any injury. They have the healing power of a 60 year old man.

Denman

As a man in his 60s, I resent that remark. I’ve not been on the IL even once this season

As Cirensica

I speak from experience. As a man of 52, every time I get hurt, it takes a long time for me to heal. I remember when I was in my 20s, if I tweak my ankle playing soccer, 2 days later, I was back on the field. Now? I limp for 2 weeks. But not everyone is the same.

Foulkelore

I wonder how good he was feeling before getting hit by a pitch on his hand in his first at bat.

Joliet Orange Sox

Jason and Gordon have called the Seattle run unearned several times. It was earned.

Foulkelore

Yep, good catch. It scored on an error, but you have to play out the rest of the inning. I can’t remember if they assume sacrifice flies on the deep Suarez fly out, but the single by Winker after that makes it moot. The run would have scored, regardless of the error, by unearned/earned run rules.

charlie

Why arenโ€™t we talking about the ridiculousness of the error and how it might cost us a game.

Foulkelore

Because it didn’t matter in the grand scheme of things? There would have been a runner on 3rd with 1 out without the error. Suarez hit a deep fly ball (that would have scored the runner from 3rd), and then Winker singled (which would have scored the runner from 3rd). Please set aside your burning hatred for Moncada and try to look at it logically.

charlie

You have no idea what would have happened next had the ball been fielded cleanly.

charlie

No one in the world misses that ball.

roke1960

Yeah, let’s play Leury there. That will solve all our problems!! In fact, let’s sign him to a multi-year deal!! Oh, wait, we already did that.

Joliet Orange Sox

Sheets’s poor defense has cost the Sox over the year but that run scores even if Sheets doesn’t commit the error.

Foulkelore

Don’t worry, he’s not blaming Sheets for the error (see his first post).

Foulkelore

Great job by Jimmy to get out of that. Now, time for the offense to score with the best part of the lineup coming up.

Joliet Orange Sox

Jimmy “High Lev” Lambert has been a pleasant surprise.

As Cirensica

We need a homer

As Cirensica

Gotta work tomorrow. So this is it for me. Good night.
