Watching Cease walk the world I thought, does anyone in baseball walk more people than Sox pitchers?

The answer is yes- Pitt, Texas, Wash, Kc ,Cincinnati. That is all.

Combined with the fact that the sox hitters have the fewest walks in baseball. Safe to say free passes are killing us this year

soxygen

Last I checked, our pitchers lead MLB in pitches per plate appearance also…just a very inefficient staff overall.

upnorthsox

They’ve improved, last I checked the Sox had second most BBs.

hellotowel

The rebuilding seasons were not only more fun than this season, they were significantly more fun. This is brutal.

Adam

Really is amazing what expectations do to the feel of things. Sox haven’t lost a series in a month. It’s been an excellent stretch. But it feels like a slow death

Foulkelore

It looked like both Tim and Josh slowed up on the ground ball up the middle. I’m not sure if either would have been able to make the play, but that was odd.

Adam

Oh my, yasmani in the open field

a-t

yaz with the slowest 1st to 3rd i have ever seen

Foulkelore

If Seby hits a ground ball here, Texas might be able to get the old 6-4-3-2 triple play with Yaz at third.

Adam

Lmao at picturing that

calcetinesblancos

Skip had to love that one lol.

Jose Berrios: Double Agent

Adam

Im thinking what’s better than the twins losing? The twins blowing a large lead to lose. Right team to do it

a-t

Well, to be fair, they did DFA the guy (Duffey) who blew it yesterday lol

Adam

I have faith in all twins relievers to blow games.

Im good news, I just checked the schedule and Berrios will pitch again in the series finale vs Baltimore and not in the following series vs Cleveland

Adam

Solo homers in back to back innings, 5-2. On their way

Adam

Vlad jr bomb, 5-4

Foulkelore

Eloy!

soxygen

He’s back!

As Cirensica

That was a beauty

a-t

Bombs away off the Lockheed Martin sign

Foulkelore

An extra base hit for Yaz!

As Cirensica

Yas waking up is a welcome turn of events

a-t

Yaz walk! Yaz 1st to to 3rd! Yaz XBH!!

Joliet Orange Sox

Yasmani is not fast.

calcetinesblancos

His “running as hard as he can” looks like a leisurely jog.

Mamas, don’t let your babies grow up to be catchers.

Let ’em be pitchers and shortstops and such.

DJ on watching Grandal trying to stretch that into a double:

“My heinie was clinched!” He then went on to add sound effects.

I can’t believe they wasted that effort.

Foulkelore

That fly ball was close to a repeat of yesterday, only Vaughn got to it this time.

As Cirensica

Any line drive towards Vaughn raises my blood pressure

Vladdy Dadi, We like to party!

As Cirensica

No lead is safe against the Bluejays

ChiSoxND12

I know the heat’s oppressive in Texas, but man it really just looks like they traded in a beautiful ballpark to play in an Amazon fulfillment center

calcetinesblancos

That’s kind of the vibe they go for in Texas.

Ugh. Moncada is next level awful. Competent with the glove to be fair. But what an absolute mirage he put on earlier in his career. Such an absolute waste of salary for someone that’s supposed to produce. He can’t even nominally provide offense. Ray Charles could quite possibly equal his performance at the plate.

I’d still rather have him in there than Burger.

Overall I’d agree. Mainly because Moncada is far more competent with his glove. I honestly have more faith in Burger offensively. That says alot about how incompetent Moncada has been at the plate.

For all of his struggles, he’s still hit pretty well with runners in scoring position. That along with the glove make him playable.

He laid off some pitches that shocked me.

soxygen

Dylan Cease is next level awesome right now.

calcetinesblancos

Sox should be doing literally all they can to try and sign him long term.

calcetinesblancos

God you must feel like such a chump looking at strike three right down the pipe.

As Cirensica

As Cirensica

Eloy is really hitting the ball hard

Popeye with another home run tonight. What’s gotten into him?

hankthetank35

Started eatin his spinach?

Kelly Wunsch N' Munch

Gracious sakes Tony is an atrocitie. Seriously… a hit and run there!? 🤦‍♂️

I can’t really blame him for starting the runner with Abreu up there. He leads the league in DP’s every season.

Meh. Different strokes I guess.

calcetinesblancos

So dry: “You get hit, you go to first base, that’s kind of the way this works.”

Lopez fitting right in in that Twins bullpen.

Adam

Tapia was down 0-2 and rips a rbi single, 5-5!

calcetinesblancos

Nut shot alert! Lol.

We’re #2! We’re #2!

funkerdan

Oh shit

charlie

I’m so tired of hearing about Moncada’s talent. He’s not good and continues to be by far the worst link in this offense!
Because we need him defensively please hit him 8 and just leave him there!!
