Writing about the White Sox for a 16th season, first here, then at South Side Sox, and now here again. Let’s talk curling.
Anderson with the day off. Can’t IL him, he’d miss the All-Star game.
Once again Kopech can’t get out of the 1st unscathed.
Kopech looks off. It might be worth putting him on the IL and getting Davis Martin up here for the week before the All Star break.
So it’s Cy Hutchinson now, great!
The Sox have had some loud contact that turned into outs. 5 of the Sox outs through 3 innings have had an xBA of 0.450 or above. It’s frustrating but Hutchinson certainly hasn’t been overwhelming the Sox.
It’s Joe Mays all over again except all from righthand side
What’s with Sox home series where can only win 1 game per series?
Still some innings left but this is frustrating
I thought Drew Hutchinson was out of baseball but here he is, and we cannot hit him
Is it wrong for me to be rooting for this White Sox team to lose every single game for the rest of the season?
yes. Because if your rooting actually mattered, the Sox probably would have won multiple world series (I am making the assumption you usually root for them to win) but since they haven’t, we know it doesn’t matter what you do, it’s still wrong.
It’s fine if you are a Twins fan. If you are a White Sox fan, I don’t get it.
I’ve posted about this Sox-fans-rooting-against-the-Sox phenomenon before. Again, I just don’t get it.
My long previous comment on this phenomenon
Well, there’s a certain amount of facetiousness to my comment. Obviously I’m a fan; I wouldn’t be a paying member of this community if I weren’t. The point is, in the despair that this season has gifted us, I figure the only way we’ll see actual, necessary organizational change is through 1. the death of a key member of the WS brass or 2. abject humiliation on a scale that’s otherwise unimaginable, like losing 60 games in a grow.
So, am I rooting against them because I’m less of a fan? No, that’s silly. Am I rooting against them because they sold us damaged goods and have prioritized many other things over winning and fan happiness? Yes. Yes I am–and that’s not unreasonable. Accountability isn’t an unreasonable thing to hope for.
If the result of that would be an end to Reinsdorf/La Clown hegemony, and the front office finally acknowledging that this roster as constructed is doomed to mediocrity, and then making real plans to fix that, then no, it is not wrong.
If it would not result in those things, there is no point in caring one way or another what this team does.
We’re only 1/2 way through this game, we’re only down 2-0, and (on paper) we’ve got a far better offense and a “stocked” bullpen: so how come I feel there’s no way we win this one?
Okay, we’ve cut the lead in half with 4 innings left and I still feel there’s no way we win this one.
Sheets ties the game for us and we’ve got 3 innings let but I still feel there’s no way we win this one.
Sheets since recalled has been fantastic
I think more home runs is something to consider.
That sounded like a golf ball off Gavin’s bat, sheesh.
How bad have things been? This is Liam’s first save opportunity since June 5th.
And that’s a White Sox winner! On to Cleveland!
So if we can win 3 of 4 in Cleveland we’d be going into Minny in 2nd place with a possible chance at 1st before the break.
How can you see to type with those thick rose-colored glasses you must be wearing. Text to speech soft-ware?
That’s winning 6 of 8 games, Sox have done that 4 times already this season. No thickness needed.
It’s puff, puff, pass… not puff, puff, puff. But by all means if you think the Sox are in first before the break, please pass that over here, I’ll try some!
