Besides seeing dozens of new prospects in standard game situations, one of the benefits of the start of the Arizona Complex League season is the end of extended spring training, because as Evan Drellich of The Athletic notes, players are barely paid for their presences there.

Fortunately, the White Sox aren’t one of the five teams that Advocates for Minor Leaguers said didn’t pay players a salaries (A’s, Angels, Brewers, Marlins and Reds), but Drellich goes into detail about what it’s like living on meager allowances, and it feels especially exploitative when recently relocated Latin American 17-, 18- and 19-year-olds comprise a sizable portion of the personnel.

Colson Montgomery is joining Mena in High-A

ParisSox

does the streak still count for record keeping purposes? I mean if he keeps it going and sets a minor league record?

lifelongjd

Yes, Crash Davis is still the all time home run leader for the minors I believe

jorgefabregas

I don’t think anyone cares about minor league streak records, but it’s still a streak whether he changes teams or not.

Here is the record, according to Google

FishSox

Do you think Millar did it by putting the opposing pitchers to sleep with his between pitches routines that went on forever?

soxygen

The more the Sox play this year, the more I care about minor league records
