Huge bail out by José there
I missed the first three batters. Was the out on the bases a TOOTBLAN?
The offense has been notably better of late. Pity the pitching staff decided to collapse in grand fashion
It might be time for Tony to get Cease warming up.
Lynn got hit hard. I’m happy his velocity picked up as the inning went on. Those first few four-seam fastballs were concerning.
Steve really nailed it. He said Yoan should be looking middle out. And the pitch was middle out and Yoan was looking…again he is looking at strike 3.
Wonder if moncada ever gets tired of walking to the dugout after striking out. He does it alot. This guy is absolutely horrible .
Welcome back Lance, feel free to join in the suckitude.
I hope 2023 Lynn won’t be analogous to 2022 Keuchel. I’m sure he will be better than that but it still might wind up being 18M for a guy well past his prime. They haven’t made one good move that looks like it will work out for them in the past two years, aside from maybe Cueto.
I thought Lynn looked fine for a first start of year. He topped out at 94.4 mph which where he’s been when pitching well the last few years. I didn’t see anything tonight that made me more concerned about Lynn than I was before the game.
Yep, it was a rough start, but he settled in, and that’s satisfactory for his first time out. Unfortunately, he’s now lined up to pitch against his nemesis, the Astros, for his next start.
Jason: Let’s watch Jake Burger on that last swing on the ground ball to second base.
Steve: He hit the ball hard.
Statcast: Burger hit the ball with an exit velocity of 39 mph.
Statcast has updated and Burger did hit the ball hard. My bad.
They must have glitched when you looked at it (I’ve seen that before when looking right away). It’s 109.6 mph now.
The 39 MPH must have been the ball that hit him. At first there was a question of whether the ball hit the bat and was in play.
Oh yeah. Good call.
And it’s a good sign that Jake could come back and hit a ball that hard. They would have had to have airlifted me out of there.
So….how’s the clubhouse chemistry going?
Burger now out, after being hit on the hand in his last at bat. With the luck of this team, I can only assume his hand had to be amputated.
White Sox Baseball 2022: “Seby Zavala DH’ed.”
Omar Vizquel once did it so I’m immune to this
And chose, as a plan, not out of desperation, Mark Kotsay instead of Jim Thome.
Think about how bad Vizquel DH’ing is then consider: Vizquel was usually around a league average hitter and Zavala is a glove-first, 28 year old catcher with a career wRC+ of 50.
The glove first is a generous statement
Maybe The Russa forgot what “DH” stands for.
He doesn’t care about designated things.
Which One Of Roger Clemens Garbage Sons Are You Putting On Base?
The Dreaded Kody
Sousa is in, game will be tied in (fill in the blanks) mins
So, how much longer until Sousa’s extreme reverse splits matter and are taken into account?
Someone needs to publish a pamphlet, So, Your Season Now Depends on Bennett Sousa: How to Cope.
There has to be better options in the minor than Sousa.
Hunter Schryver and Zach Muckenhirn are two lefties doing well in AAA. At this point, they should roll the dice and try one. They’d have to make a 40-man roster move, but there’s still some dead weight that can easily be removed.
DFA Sousa to make room, who cares?
Right, or one of: Yoan Aybar/Anderson Severino/Parker Markel
If only Hahn had invested in the bullpen this off-season. Then, a 2-run lead going into the 7th would seem more secure.
Sweet, it’s setup man, Tanner Banks.
is it time for a Jose Jeater?
Jose with a bomb!
Even though I watched him do it, there’s no way Zavala hit three home runs in one game.
Can the Sox get a wet sock for a trade involving moncada?
I’ve picked up a bit that you don’t care for Moncada. Correct me if I’m wrong.
