White Sox Wake Up Call: May 17, 2022

Last night: Johnny Cueto was great in his White Sox debut, but troubles with the 8th inning struck again to send the game into extra innings. Luckily, Luis Robert was the hero hitting a game-winning two-run homer.

Today: White Sox and Royals are scheduled to play two games. Dylan Cease will seek to bounce back from his uneven start against the Yankees by taking the ball in Game 1. For the nightcap, 14th round pick from the 2018 MLB Draft, Davis Martin, will make his MLB debut and start for the White Sox.

Around MLB: Minnesota Twins continue winning, the Milwaukee Brewers win thanks to #WILDPITCHOFFENSE, and Boston bounces back against Houston.

Re: Why Crochet wasn’t on the 60 Day IL already, I think you need to have a full 40-man before you can move guys to the 60 Day IL or something like that

If a club doesn’t need a 40-man roster spot to replace an injured player, the player may be kept on the 10-day injured list longer than 60 days rather than being transferred to the 60-day injured list. That way, the club won’t need to risk losing another player by going through the process to clear a spot on the 40-man roster when the injured player is ready to return.
