They’ve had a very good offense this year. The Sox are second in wRC+, or if you don’t like advanced stats: 3rd in average, 2nd in OBP, 5th in runs, etc. I know it feels bad, but it was a bad night last night and a game against Gerrit Cole today. I think their bigger need for this year is going to be to add at least one good RHP to the bullpen.
But they’re middle of the pack in terms of barrel/hard hit percent and #1 in BABIP which points to their success being results based and that the results will likely regress.

This is a very Twinsesque performance. We are getting a beatdown on the big stage.

The Sox have benefited from a soft schedule and an incredible amount of BABIP luck considering how many ground balls they hit. They’re due for a few clunkers especially against good teams.
Harper is the one that hurts so much. No Mazara last year. No Eaton this year. And go ahead and look at his career and 2021 splits against RHP if you want to cry a little. He also took about per year what they were low-balling Machado with (albeit for more years, but the future value of that money just decreases over time).
Odds that Hendricks will be used today down several runs “just to get his work in”? I’d say those odds are pretty good.
Nah. TLR dared to put Vaughn in LF against Cole rather than Lamb so he’s not completely senile. Yet.
I hope so! That said, it looks like Liam has only thrown 11 pitches since last Friday.
It’s time for the Sox to go out and get another bat- Joey Gallo or someone like that. This offense is just not very good.
We probably need Gallo and a bullpen arm.

We really miss Eloy’s power.
It’s not the reason they’re losing, but this strike zone has been brutal today.
Some teams sign Gerrit Cole. Some teams sign Adam Eaton.
Harper, Springer, and Castellanos out there
Jerry goes with Adam Eaton.

Completely agree
Badrigal back with a vengeance this series
Give LaRussa credit for saving Crochet for this game.
