Josh and Jim recap a terrible road trip to the state of Ohio. After being swept by Cleveland, the White Sox have now lost their hold on the AL Central and now are at risk of finishing third in the division.
They breakdown Rick Renteria’s failed decision-making in high leverage situations, White Sox bats going cold, and an attempt to be optimistic with the upcoming series against the struggling Chicago Cubs.
The Indians are a terrible (the worst?) matchup for the Sox in round one, but the “can’t beat them” is a little overplayed.
We just saw Giolito/Bieber and Keuchel/Plesac. Bieber left the game tied and Plesac down three. We can only hope the bullpen usage won’t be so quite, um, what it was.
All that to say, I hope the Sox avoid the Indians—but if they do, there’s no need to throw in the towel. It could be quite a match.
