White Sox Minor Keys: Aug. 16, 2019

It only took Nick Madrigal 13 games to hit his first Triple-A homer. It took him 31 games to notch his first homer in Double-A, and 32 games for Winston-Salem, so this is more proof that the ball is flying, right?

Well, because Madrigal zigs when everybody zags, his first homer was of the inside-the-park variety.

Drove down to Charlotte for the game.

–  Park is outstanding. Beautiful.
–  So fun to watch Moncada down there. He looked good. Hit a few balls really hard right at people.
–  Gaaaaaaahhh infuriating that Mercedes and Collins are not in Chicago. Collins looks like a different hitter. Mercedes is so fun to watch play. Why can’t we have any fun.
–  Robert is a major bummer to watch on these o-fer days. Happened once also when I went down to Winston-Salem. Swings at everything. Doesn’t look like he’s trying too hard. Walks back to the dugout head down.  Seen him other times in WS look like Ken Griffey freaking Jr. Get him up to the show where he’s constantly challenged by the best of the best and has pressure to perform and improve.
–  Madrigal. Woooo hooo! Fun af. Mega stoked about this kid. Oh boy. That inside the parker!!
–  Despaigne pitched. So that happened too. Â
