One of the best things about Giolito’s start yesterday was that he seemed to be having a lot of fun out there. He looked very loose against a terrific lineup. He has the makeup of a true ace.

Loved seeing Giolito shut them down. Great to see such hard work pay off. Hope he can keep it up.

On a side note, as an old timer, it’s hard to believe that only he and Beiber have three CG’s and that only 20 guys have CG’s this year. The game sure has changed.

The Comeback Player of the Year thing is interesting. The award feels like it’s geared towards more established players, while Giolito wasn’t really ever established in the first place. They need a Most Improved Player award, though that seems almost condescending or Little League-y.

Suffice to say it’s just awesome that as fans we get to talk about this at all.
