Not really a discussion about the Top 12, but Yermin Mercedes, the newest Charlotte Knight, how bad is his receiving? Worse than Collins? He’s about the same age as Zavala and Seby gets more talk of getting an opportunity in the majors.
If I had to choose I’d probably lean Zavala for 12. That’s more aspirational about the Sox not being a team whose catching situation is so bad they can ditch 4 in ~12 months with little regret.
Basabe would be still be up there for me. Hard to tell what’s really going on with the injury but he showed tremendous progress last year.
Holding on hope there is an outside chance Rutherford can still figure things out.
Adolfo is going to get a chance at the end of next year for no other reason than his option situation and I hope he can finally stay healthy for more than 3 months at a time.
Really, really liked the James Beard pick. They spurned the toolsey high school speedster with a project of a bat at #3 and then took a similar guy in the 4th round.
He left tonight’s game early. He had another absence earlier this month, and that’s what suppresses my enthusiasm besides the drop in numbers, which is to be expected from a hand injury.
Charlotte ahead of Lancaster for scoring is crazytownbananapants. Those poor pitchers.

Great Time magazine subtweet.

Worse than Collins. Doesn’t really have a position.
And while politics plays a role in promotions, the extra .5 year on Zavala and 1.5 years on Collins matter when he’s a level behind.

Let the front office know I am open to a team-friendly extension in the low 8 figures
Hell, I’ll hold down that 12 spot, and they only need to give me, say, $500,000.
I’ll accept free health care for life in exchange for sitting in the 100s between the dugout and foulpole before the nets are extended.

I’m thinking Konnor Pilkington at #12.
Has Vaughn already signed? And the other new ones on the list? Just curious.
Nope, but you can bet the second and third round picks are gonna get paid well over slot.
Will Texas be without Pence, Gallo and Mazara this weekend?

I’m at 12? That’s awesome. I’m going to put Zangari at 13 because he is going to mash one day and you’ll all be sorry.
