Sound effects very reminiscent of SNL’s “Quiet Storm” skits.
On the Tilson/Cordell comparison:
Tilson – .248/.311/.314 (.625), 70 OPS+, 23.5 K%, 6.8 BB%
Cordell – .231/.291/.338 (.629), 69 OPS+, 31.3 K%, 6.3 BB%
Engel – .212/.281/.346 (.627), 68 OPS+, 34.5 K%, 6.9 BB%
That’s right, Tilson and Cordell are basically Adam Engel at the plate overall. While Tilson doesn’t have the horrendous contact issues of the other two, he also has the least power between them to make it matter. Unlike Engel, neither of them has the defense to make this sort of hitting even remotely tolerable (and, let’s face it, it was pretty intolerable even with Engel).
Then it’s time to call Adam Engel back up because we know he can handle CF.
They are all JB Shucks. Fillers the White Sox only need in case of emergencies. I rather we keep Engel, at least he can catch the ball competently, and, if for some reason he gets on base, he can really run.
Leury is they guy the White Sox should extend and keep for contending times. He reminds me Angel Pagan.
So tired of getting Shucked by the WS front office!
Seriously, though, we should keep Leury around long-term. Solid super-sub for a contender.
