Sporcle Saturday: Everybody’s favorite hit
A few weeks back, VaChisox suggested a theme for a future Sporcle: Sox leaders in everybody’s favorite type of hit, bunts. Well, I’m here to say: “ask for and ye shall receive”; alternately, that may also be construed as “be careful what you wish for”.
Regardless of your feelings on the topic, Baseball Reference does contain a split category for bunts, at least going back to 1988. So, today’s Sporcle will take a look at bunts: who are the bunt leaders for the White Sox, at least since 1988? How many can you name? Good luck!
Quiz Parameters
- I’ve allotted 10 minutes for completion attempts.
- For hints, I’ve provided length of tenure, number of bunts, and position of the player in question.
Useless information to amaze, annoy, confuse, and/or confound your friends and family:
- The average triple-slash, as you would expect, is so worthless it’s amusing: .529/.529/.529.
- The most bunt hits over this period of time is 38, which two players achieved.
- The most RBI from one player is 12, while several players recorded 0.

Thanks, Ted. This was fun (even coming after last night).
24/24. Granted, I had my son helping me, and he helped me get the last guy.
24/24. Ignoring the dates made things a little easier, since the early cutoff threw me on
23/24. Got everyone but
24/24 6:04 left which beats boomers 24/24 w 2:25 left.Â
