“Make no little plans. They have no magic to stir men’s blood and probably will not themselves be realized.
Chicago Architect Daniel Burnham wrote the title more than 100 years ago….it holds true today. As a 7 decade Sox fan, I’m tired of the current incarnation of White Sox being labeled as a small to mid-market team with the associated management thought process. Jerry, thank you for re-invigorating the Sox fanbase with Fisk and Luzinski in 1981; (still haven’t forgiven you for the Harry Caray debacle or the 94 strike), yet 2005, was…….
But, now it’s time for you go. The players today don’t want to be measured, they want to be paid. If you’re going to go for it, go for! You hurt the reputation of our beloved team today, your management style doesn’t play in the current sports environment…. You suggested you kids should sell the team when you die, why wait?
Hitman,
you brought a tear to my eye. When I was a small 11-year old boy, the White Sox brought Luzinski, Fisk, etc. to our local mall in SW Michigan for autographs and pictures as they were creating interest in the team. It worked for me.
I’ve been a fan ever since. Then they mesmerized us with that 1983 ball-club. I still love that team. Thanks for the trip back memory lane…
You’re welcome 🙂
