Arizona Fall League recap: Oct. 12, 2018

Luis Robert. (Jonathan Lee)

On Thursday, MLB.com ran a Luis Robert story that didn’t offer much depth, but still had a quote straight from the source about Arizona Fall League ambitions.

“My goal in the Arizona Fall League is to play more,” said Robert. “That’s what was missing from my season; I couldn’t play that much. I need to keep playing so I can adapt as fast as I can to baseball in the U.S.”

One day later, you’ll never guess what happened:

Robert was supposed to participate in the Bowman Hitting Challenge today, but instead has been replaced by Laz Rivera, so we know he’ll be out of action for at least one day.

But hey, he contributed this single:

On those occasions when Luis Robert is able to bat, his walk-up music should be this.

I hope Robert outgrows that song.ย

Say what you want about Robert but he’s had zero testicular torsions and zero ingrown hair infections.
