Winston-Salem and Wilmington play extra innings, then play the waiting game

The Winston-Salem Dash and the Wilmington Blue Rocks slugged out the completion of a suspended game that lasted 12 innings, then tried to wait out a lengthy rain delay before calling it a night.

It’s hard to blame them if they got a little loopy during the attempt to play two.

Charlotte 7, Louisville 6 (10 innings)

  • Charlie Tilson went 1-for-5 with a double.
  • Welington Castillo caught half the game, going 0-for-2.
  • Seby Zavala caught the other half, going 0-for-2 with a strikeout and a sac fly.
  • Eloy Jimenez went 2-for-5 with a strikeout.
  • Jose Rondon, 1-for-4 with a double and a strikeout
  • Ryan Cordell was 0-for-3 with two strikeouts.
  • Jordan Stephens: 5 IP, 4 H, 1 R, 1 ER, 3 BB, 7 K, 1 HR
  • Carson Fulmer: 2 IP, 1 H, 0 R, 0 BB, 0 K
  • Ian Hamilton: 1 IP, 1 H, 1 R, 1 ER, 0 BB, 1 K, 1 HR
  • Caleb Frare: 1 IP, 0 H, 0 R, 0 BB, 2 K

Tennessee 2, Birmingham 1

  • Joel Booker went 0-for-4 with a strikeout.
  • Luis Basabe reached all four times on a double, single, walk and HBP, and stole a base.
  • Zack Collins went 1-for-4 with a strikeout.
  • Alex Call was 0-for-3 with a sac fly and a strikeout.
  • Danny Mendick was 0-for-3 with a K.
  • Kodi Medeiros had his best outing as a Baron: 8 IP, 5 H, 1 R, 1 ER, 3 BB, 3 K, 1 HR

Winston-Salem 12, Wilmington 11 (Game 1, 11 innings)

  • Luis Gonzalez went 3-for-5 with a homer and a strikeout. He was also caught stealing.
  • Laz Rivera, 1-for-6.
  • Nick Madrigal went 2-for-4 with a stolen base.
  • Micker Adolfo walked and struck out when this game before this game was suspended on July 3.
  • Gavin Sheets was 2-for-6 with a double and three strikeouts.
  • Ti’Quan Forbes went 2-for-6.
  • Luis Robert singled twice and struck out once.

Idaho Falls 6, Great Falls 5

  • Romy Gonzalez went 1-for-5 with a triple and a strikeout.
  • Lenyn Sosa was 1-for-4.
  • Bryce Bush singled twice, walked and struck out.
  • Amado Nunez went 2-for-3 with a walk.
  • Gunnar Troutwine went 0-for-3 with a strikeout.
  • Maiker Feliz, 0-for-4 with a K.
  • Jason Bilous: 3 IP, 3 H, 0 R, 1 BB, 4 K, 1 WP

AZL White Sox 5, AZL Indians2 4

  • Anderson Comas went 2-for-5 with a sac bunt.
  • Kelvin Maldonado went 1-for-4.
  • Harvin Mendoza pinch-hit for him and walked.
  • Tito Polo went 0-for-3 with a sac fly and an HBP.
