Nick Madrigal an unexpected omission from AZL White Sox lineup

Nick Madrigal was supposed to play two games for the AZL White Sox before heading to Kannapolis today, but he wasn’t in the lineup on Sunday. Either that means he’s ahead of schedule, or he’s wasted little time succumbing to mystery ailments.

  • Joel Booker went 1-for-4 with two strikeouts.
  • Luis Alexander Basabe was 2-for-4 with a stolen base.
  • Nicky Delmonico went 1-for-2.
  • Alex Call replaced him and went 0-for-1 with an HBP.
  • Zack Collins went 1-for-4.
  • Danny Mendick was 0-for-4 with two strikeouts.

If Madrigal is not in a starting line-up today, I will hit peak rebuild dour.
From Joses Abreu to Rodriguez, it’s been a very trying season.

When Nicky D finishes rehab, does he return? If so, who goes down? Palka? Engel? Tilson?

I don’t think swapping Nicky for Tilson is necessarily the best fit for the roster. But the lack of playing time for Charlie, who I see as potentially the most Major Leaguerey of the group, isn’t doing him any favors.

Apropos of nothing, Robert’s been in the organization about a year now and I have frustratingly little more information to assess his ceiling/floor/etc. And I probably won’t get anything meaningful until spring.
