White Sox Minor Keys: July 14, 2018

After a rough stretch of bad news, whether it stem from injuries or just plain ol’ underperformance, Saturday night was a triumph for the White Sox farm system.

*Michael Kopech went on a rampage against Durham, striking out 11 over six innings while throwing a whopping 70 of 96 pitches for strikes.

*Jimmy Lambert took a no-hitter against Tennessee into the seventh inning. He settled for 10 strikeouts over seven innings of one-hit ball in a Birmingham victory.

*Steele Walker made his long-awaited debut for the AZL White Sox.

Charlotte 3, Durham 1 (10 innings)

  • Nicky Delmonico went 0-for-4 with a walk and three strikeouts.
  • Jose Rondon, 1-for-4 with a triple and two strikeouts.
  • Michael Kopech: 6 IP, 4 H, 1 R, 1 ER, 1 BB, 11 K
  • Thyago Vieira: 1 IP, 0 H, 0 R, 0 BB, 1 K, 1 WP

Birmingham 3, Tennessee 0

  • Joel Booker went 0-for-4 with a walk and two strikeouts.
  • Alex Call was 1-for-5 with two strikeouts.
  • Danny Mendick was perfect, goin 3-for-3 with two walks and a stolen base.
  • Jameson Fisher was 1-for-3 with a walk and a strikeout.
  • Jimmy Lambert: 7 IP, 1 H, 0 R, 2 BB, 10 K, 1 WP, 58 of 95 pitches for strikes.

Buies Creek 4, Winston-Salem 3

  • Luis Gonzlaez went 0-for-5 with a strikeout.
  • Laz Rivera was 2-for-4 with a K.
  • Blake Rutherford wasn’t retired, going 3-for-3 with two triples and a walk.
  • Ti’Quan Forbes and Gavin Sheets were both 1-for-4.

Kannapolis 10, Hagerstown 7

  • Luis Curbelo went 1-for-5 with a strikeout.
  • Carlos Perez’s hot July continues, as he went 3-for-4. He’s batting .471 this month.
  • Justin Yurchak was 1-for-4
  • Andrew Perez: 2 IP, 1 H, 0 R, 0 BB, 4 K

AZL White Sox 1, AZL Rangers 0

  • Nick Madrigal played second and went 0-for-3 before being replaced by…
  • … Camilo Quinteiro, who went 0-for-1.
  • Cabera Weaver wore the collar and silver sombrero.
  • Steele Walker was 0-for-2 with a walk in his pro debut.
  • Luis Mieses pinch-hit for him and singled.
  • Lency Delgado singled and struck out thrice.
  • Sam Abbott was 0-for-3 with a strikeout.
  • Jose Colina, 0-for-2 with a walk.
  • Anderson Comas went 0-for-3 with a strikeout.
  • Anthony Coronado went 1-for-3 with a strikeout.
  • Hunter Kiel: 2 IP, 0 H, 0 R, 1 BB, 3 K

Great Falls 4, Grand Junction 0

  • Lenyn Sosa went 2-fr-4 with a homer and a double.

Maybe to save time you could start only mentioning Gavin Sheets in cases where he DOESN’T go 1-4.  If he’s not mentioned we’ll just assume it’s the usual. .
