Minor league roundup: September 9

The Great Falls Voyagers closed out their regular season with a victory in preparation for the Pioneer League championship series against Helena. Meanwhile, the Winston-Salem Dash took a 2-0 lead against Kinston with a 2-0 victory in Game 2 of their postseason series.

  • Winston-Salem 2, Kinston 0
    • Jose Martinez and Jon Gilmore (two strikeouts) wore collars.
    • Dylan Axelrod struck out nine over seven innings, allowing just two hits and a walk.
  • Great Falls 5, Billings 2
    • Ross Wilson left the game after getting hit by a pitch. His replacement, Jeff Tezak, went 3-for-3 with a homer and two RBI.
    • Andy Wilkins went 0-for-4.

I always like to claim that the Sox have a secret god tier farm system that no one appreciates because they contend for titles and just trade everyone away before they reach the majors. And I never let things like facts of reality stand in my way. Take THAT, Keith Law.
