It's not me, it's you

I spent last night breaking up with the 2010 White Sox as part of Big League Stew’s Dear John Letters series.

Dear Chicago White Sox,
You didn’t need to change. I liked you the way you were.
I know you didn’t think you were pretty. You thought you had too much junk in the trunk. You didn’t like the way second base often failed to qualify as scoring position. I know you didn’t like your defense.
But I liked the power you brought. I liked that you didn’t have to manufacture runs. You were your own person, and I wanted you to be comfortable in your own skin.
But what I thought didn’t matter, I guess.
You thought you were so smart, and that you knew something the American League didn’t by bypassing a designated hitter last offseason. You spent more time flirting with the National League than paying attention to the teams closest to you.
You kept saying you were a contender despite all signs pointing to the contrary. And at times I believed you. And at times, it was fun.
But I just need somebody more reliable. You’re not the team for me right now.

Yes Sox, it was definitely you, not me.
In regards to the third straight year the Sox gave up early on a talented young arm – do you really think Clayton Richard’s qualifies as a guy we gave up on too soon, rather than just a product of Petco? He’s certainly got solid stuff and he’s the number 3 starter for the most surprising team in the league, but those home/away splits are awful extreme…

Makes sense, pretty much what I figured. And it’s fair enough to have him on the list, even if he’d never fit in our rotation.

Highly enjoyable read. Don’t forget Kenny getting screwed by Rizzo… This was a very enjoyable season yet so disappointing on many levels.
Three cheers for Jim as regular Yahoo! sports correspondent!
