A huge rainstorm in the Carolinas on Thursday forced eight games from five teams (Kannapolis was postponed again):

  • Charlotte 5, Toledo 4 (Completed from Thursday)
    • Jordan Danks homered twice and walked once. He made an out, and it wasn’t a K.
    • Tyler Flowers went 1-for-4 with a double and a strikeout.
    • Brent Morel (SS) went 0-for-3 with a walk and a strikeout.
    • Mark Teahen (3B) singled twice, walked once and struck out once.
    • Clevelan Santeliz struck out two and walked one over two scoreless innings.
  • Charlotte 6, Toledo 1 (Game 2, 7 innings)
    • Brent Morel went 3-for-4 with two doubles and an RBI.
    • Mark Teahen (DH) singled and walked twice in four PAs.
    • Jordan Danks went 2-for-4 with a strikeout.
  • Birmingham 8, Jacksonville 7
    • Jim Gallagher went 2-for-3 with a homer and two walks.
    • Christian Marrero hit his fifth homer and drew a walk.
    • Justin Greene went 1-for-5 with a K; Eduardo Escobar 1-for-4.
  • Frederick 6, Winston-Salem 4 (Game 1, 7 innings)
    • Stephen Sauer was hit around: 5 IP, 11 H, 6 R, 4 ER, 1 BB, 3 K
    • Brandon Short and Josh Phegley each went 1-for-3.
    • Jon Gilmore was hitless in three ABs.
  • Winston-Salem 10, Frederick 1 (Game 2, 7 innings)
    • Threes across the board for Jon Gilmore: Three singles, three RBI, and his 33rd error.
    • Jose Martinez went 3-for-4 with a double and two RBI.
    • Brandon Short went 1-for-3 with a sac fly.
  • Bristol 2, Johnson City 1 (Game 1, 7 innings)
    • Rangel Ravelo was 0-for-3.
  • Johnson City 11, Bristol 3 (Game 2, 7 innings)
    • Daniel Black hit a two-run homer, was hit by a pitch and struck out.
  • Helena 6, Great Falls 3 (13 innings)
    • Steven Upchurch allowed two runs on five hits and a walk over seven innings, striking out five.
    • Addison Reed struck out five of the six batters he faced.
    • Ross Wilson went 2-for-6; Andy Wilkins 1-for-6.
    • Michael Blanke (two doubles) and Randall Thorpe (one) each had three-hit games.
