Jim -- since you were last in Tucson, Gannett shut down the Citizen. They retained a couple of employees to run their web page as a blog host and post the occasional opinion, but there is no longer an "Ed" for anyone to be "Op".

Buerhle throwing meatballs, (not a big deal he was just getting his work in) pods taking bad routes and getting picked off, Ramon Castro having no freaking clue how to approach an at bat with a runner on third and 1 out, fields hitting into a dp and k'ing with runners on, and the endless amount of shaky defense. Yep a lot has changed since 09!!!!

Dont worry that was a horrible sox lineup last night (i guess the royals and sox could claim that), but on a serious note Dayton Moore not only has a job, he has recently been extended, excuse me for one second, BAAAAA HAHAHAHAHAHA BA AHAHAH HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA for real, for freaking real hahahahahaha!!!!!!!!!!

Ok, seriously a team with the worst ops and obp lineup maybe I have ever seen, (that includes NL teams), horrible defense at numerous positions, 1 great starter followed by a bunch of blah, all who happen to be right handed, a bullpen with a closer and nothing else thanks to some horribly shortsided trades, and again no lefties except some scrap heap rule 5 guy. I mean 31 homers down on a popless team at catcher and they bring in kendall and claim its for defense, my grandma who is bedriddin and has had 2 hips replaced can run on kendall, i mean, GOOD LORD.

Well im happy the royals through atleast 2013 wont be any damn good.

4IP 9H 3R 3ER 1W 2K

Buerhle looking excited for Opening Day when he'd rather be watching Peavy. We get it, Mark, you vs. Greinke != marquee matchup. No, you're still not getting traded to St. Louis.

Well its only the 4th inning but I can go to sleep happy after watching a pods horrible route in center field and the leadoff infield single that lead to him being picked off. Just love it!!!

To answer your specific question, Cooper helped Floyd by fixing his windup. He had too many moving parts when he brought the arms over his head, so Cooper made him scrap it. He now keeps his glove at chest level.

One thing to keep in the forefront of the Cooper discussion is that he can teach a cutter. Loaiza, Danks and Buehrle all benefited massively from leaning that pitch, and while that's not quite "fixing," but it's enhancing.

The funny thing is Thornton is the only guy he's "fixed" who is a hard-thrower. Maybe he's a "do more with less" guy, and like everybody else, can't help a pitcher with zero movement on a 98 m.p.h. fastball.

I had a discussion with a bunch of Sox fans on a discussion board about "Coop can fix 'em". I got sick of hearing it because I felt Coop was getting credit for a players success even if Coop had nothing to do with it. From what I've heard Thornton was the only pitcher Cooper actually made mechanical changes for or "fixed". My argument was that even though Floyd, Jenks, Hermanson, Contreras, Loaiza, etc. have had more success with the Sox than with other teams doesn't mean it's because Coop fixed 'em.

The argument went no where because no one actually focused on the argument (typical discussion board). I just asked "If Coop fixed Floyd, what did he actually change to fix him?".

Yup. Or more generally a MST3K reference.

I also had a Simpsons reference and a Ren & Stimpy reference. I was a Mr. Show one away from the superfecta.

This is the post. The "lengthy" part was just when I was plotting out my points and realizing I still had a lot to talk about.
