July 27: White Sox 11, Mariners 0

Bullet points only seem fitting for how hard they hit Ryan Rowland-Smith:

*The Sox jumped on Rowland-Smith for all 11 runs over five innings, including three homers. He was clearly out there to take a beating after allowing seven runs over the first three.

*It started with a Juan Pierre single, a stolen base, an Alexei Ramirez RBI single, and they didn’t relent.

*A.J. Pierzynski had the other death blow in that inning, a two-run single with two outs that put the game out of reach immediately.

*Ramirez had an awesome day, going 3-for-4 with three RBI.

*Andruw Jones also had three RBI, all on one swing. It was a hanging curve ball, 71 m.p.h.

*Dayan Viciedo murdered two doubles, including a knuckling liner that eluded Michael Saunders in center, and an opposite-field rip that ended up clearing the fence with a wicked hop.

*Gordon Beckham pulled two doubles with authority.

*Alex Rios was the only one without a hit.

*Ramon Castro pinch-hit for Juan Pierre, putting the catcher in the DH spot. Hmm?

*Gavin Floyd had no issues thanks to the double play ball.

Record: 55-44 | Box score | Play-by-play

bullet point misfire — Quentin other hitless starter, but did walk

White Sox need more laughers like this if they want people to take their run differential seriously.
