Wait for it...
By this afternoon, I hope to have completed a project that should justify my lack of writing over the past two evenings.
In the meantime, here's Saturday's roundup:

Minor league roundup:- Charlotte 6, Richmond 0 (Game 1, 7 innings)
- Wes Whisler threw 5 2/3 shutout innings, allowing three hits and a walk while striking out one.
- Mike MacDougal threw the other 1 1/3 innings, striking out three and only allowing a hit.
- Brad Eldred went 2-for-4 with his 23rd homer and three RBI.
- Danny Richar went 1-for-3 with a walk and two runs scored, though he committed his seventh error.
- Richmond 5, Charlotte 4 (Game 2, 10 innings)
- Brad Eldred hit a grand slam for home run No. 24.
- Jason Bourgeois, Danny Richar and Dewayne Wise each had two hits.
- D.J. Carrasco struck out six over five innings.
- Ehren Wassermann was charged with his first blown save, but only because allowed one of two inherited runners to score to tie it.
- Carolina 4, Birmingham 2
- Aaron Poreda took the loss in his Double-A debut, allowing four runs on six hits over six innings. He struck out five and walked none.
- John Lujan pitched a perfect inning in relief, and Jon Link struck out the side in his.
- Noah Hall doubled and drove in both the Barons' runs.
- Kannapolis 12, Lexington 8
- Jason Rice pitched six shutout innings, allowing only a hit and striking out seven.
- Catcher Matt Inyoue went 5-for-5 with two runs scored and an RBI.
- Lyndon Estill went 3-for-5 with a pair of doubles and a pair of RBI.
- Jim Gallagher was the only starter without a hit, going 0-for-5 with three strikeouts.
