Baby got back


Need some cheering up?  Well, here's Razor Shines checking out the Phillie Phanatic's badonkadonk.  After that, I got nothing -- except plenty more photos from Philadelphia in the galleries section.

Speaking of surreal scenes, I'm not sure what to make of the story about Sox players upsetting Patti LaBelle, but it reminded me of this Onion article.  And I'm not at all surprised Jim Thome helped to broker the peace.

But hey, maybe this could be a team-building event, like when the temporary Washington Sentinels got into a bar fight with the striking players in The Replacements.  We could call this version The Replacement Level.  If only LaBelle had sung "I Will Survive" instead of Gloria Gaynor.

Minor league round-up:
  • Charlotte 13, Indianapolis 2 (6 innings)
    • Ryan Sweeney went 3-for-4 with a homer (No. 4) and three RBI; Ernie Young also homered, and Kenny Kelly went deep twice.
    • Jason Bourgeois went 3-for-3 with a double, raising his average to .404.
    • Charlie Haeger allowed two unearned runs over five innings, walking three and striking out seven.  Andy Sisco walked one and struck out two in his scoreless outing of work.
  • Winston-Salem 8, Potomac 3
    • Aaron Cunningham went 1-for-4 with his fifth triple of the year and a walk.  He also stole his 18th base.
    • Cole Armstrong, Javier Castillo and Robert Hudson each had multi-hit games.
    • Derek Rodriguez improved to 6-1 with a quality start; Brian Omogrosso and John Lujan combined for three scoreless innings in relief.
  • Kannapolis 9, Greenville 8 (10 innings)
    • Everybody in the Kanny lineup had a hit; Maurice Gartrell went deep, while Michael Grace went 4-for-5 with two doubles and three RBI.
    • Matt Long was hit hard in his start (six runs in six innings), but Ricky Brooks picked up the win in his first relief appearance, throwing two scoreless frames.
