The kids can let things pass

Brandon McCarthy:

"I went on one of my standard long-winded monologues, and I touched on the subject that was asked but I ran all over," McCarthy said with a laugh. "My answer sounded negative and it wasn't meant that way.

"The question was posed to me as to which clubhouse was a better fit, and I said this clubhouse [with Texas] because it's so young, so open and fun. But that's not to say I was miserable in Chicago. Not at all. I loved all those guys and had no bad feelings."

Brian Anderson:

"I can see why they'd be upset,'' Anderson said. ''Brandon was getting lit up, and I was batting .150, and they see us eating late and having a beer. It doesn't look good, but it wasn't a point where our extracurricular activities were getting in the way of baseball. It never has."

Thanks, guys.
