Since it's late Friday/early Saturday, a look at some winter ball numbers:
Arizona Fall League- Chris Getz: .267/.343/.300 (60 AB), 2 2B, 2 RBI, 7 BB, 5 K, 2/4 SB
- Ryan Sweeney: .258/.329/.258 (66 AB), 0 XBH, 7 RBI, 8 BB, 17 K, 4/5 SB
- Donny Lucy: 7-for-35, 1 2B, 3 RBI, 2 BB, 12 K, 1/1 SB
- Jack Egbert: 14.1 IP, 13 H, 6 ER, 10 BB, 11 K
- Adam Russell: 14 IP, 13 H, 4 ER, 7 BB, 14 K
- Dewon Day: 12 IP, 8 H, 2 ER, 4 BB, 15 K
- Fernando Hernandez Jr.: 11.2 IP, 4 H, 0 ER, 3 BB, 11 K
Mexican League- Jason Bourgeois: .274/.349/.336 (113 AB), 5 2B, 1 3B, 12 BB, 16 K, 12/13 SB
- Heath Phillips: 4.91 ERA, 25.2 IP, 30 H, 11 BB, 25 K
Dominican League- Oneli Perez: 7.1 IP, 1 H, 0 R, 1 BB, 6 K
Venezuelan League- Carlos Vasquez: 6.1 IP, 7 H, 1 ER, 5 BB, 1 K
Hawaiian League- Kanekoa Texeira: 5.2 IP, 9 H, 8 ER, 3 BB, 1 K
Not that I want to harp on Sweeney's lack of extra-base hits, but he's more than halfway to
Jerry Owens' 2007 record drought of 118 consecutive at-bats -- against far weaker competition and in a good hitting environment.
The good news, however, is that the relievers are getting the job done:
- Dewon Day has thrown three straight perfect outings, striking out five over three innings.
- Same goes for Fernando Hernandez, except he's struck out three over three.
- Oneli Perez has pitched six hitless outings in seven tries.
I only wish I knew what was up with Jack Egbert's walk total.

the latest Smells Like Mascot -- Ozzie's expression in the fifth panel, or Juan Uribe's shirt in the sixth.
