White Sox Reliever Call-Up Mad Libs
The Sox
purchased the contract of Agustin Montero, sending down Charlie Haeger after a
rough start. Between him and Haeger, and considering Javier Lopez or Jeff Farnsworth could be the next to get a shot, I figured I'd take some of the work out of future write-ups. I may as well make use of the time provided by tonight's rained-out affair.

The White Sox called up
NAME OF AAA RELIEVER from Triple-A Charlotte today, sending down a struggling
NAME OF MLB RELIEVER to make room on the 25-man roster.
NAME OF AAA RELIEVER got smacked around during Spring Training, posting a 1
#.## ERA in
# innings. Yet so far this year in Charlotte, he’s been lights out. In
# innings, he’s only allowed
# earned runs, and his strikeout rate is much improved over what we’ve seen in Tucson.
Yet
NAME OF AAA RELIEVER doesn’t have a track record of retiring major-league hitters, and it’s probably because he doesn’t have overpowering stuff. He only has two pitches, a fastball that tops out at
# BETWEEN 85 AND 92 and a
OFF-SPEED PITCH that needs work.
Considering how open the bullpen competition was, there’s no reason to believe that
NAME OF AAA RELIEVER will cure any of the woes plaguing the Sox bullpen right now. There’s always the chance the Sox will be the recipient of lightning in a bottle, but given he’s a little too
YOUNG, OLD for AAA, I doubt he’ll stick up in the majors for long.
